Tonight we had more than usual amount patrolersl. We did not like missing out on previous operation so we put in a few hours and also has a small little braai.
We had a few problems with drunk drivers and the normal skarrelaars.
Just a note of advice. If you have the electric/water company come and work for you after hours, do not let them park more than half a metre away from the sideway facing oncoming traffic and leave the vehicle open and liquor in the vehicle! Recipe for disaster.
We also manage to visit two of our neighbouring Nhw’s. Shortly we will be visiting them all and do not leave one out 🙂

Someone jumped the fence and stole a bag. The alarm went off, but he got away. Belongings and some contents of the bag were found the next morning someone else’s yard a street away.
Also visit the new squatter site and seems they were assisted in cleaning up around them. Talked to one of the occupants and he promised to keep things tidy and neat. We also found someone sleeping on the empty plot near the corner of 9th and station street.

We contacted emergency services using Namola App. Emergency vehicle took too long and the lady and gentlemen were picked up by a mini truck and took to the hospital. We followed up and found she gave birth to a healthy baby.

5 February 2021
Well, we had an interesting evening. It started out pretty quiet. At the end of the patrol we were alerted about people running and jumping into people’s yard. The lady mentioned it on the CID group and not the Belmont Park Safety group. We were able to remedy the situation. But the response would have been faster if it was mentioned on the Belmont Park safety Group.
The people were confused about the different WhatsApp groups. We have the Belmont Park Safety Group which was established for crime in Belmont Park by John Smidt and Jolene Louw. The Nhw is now monitoring this group. There is unfortunately no link to join this group. You need to contact us in order to be added to this group. This group is for all safety related issues in Belmont Park and surrounding area that might have an impact on our safety.
The Belmont park CID group was established to assist with all Municipal issues in the area. Water, Rates and general area and park. This group is working establishing a CID City Improvement District.
Then there are the Belmont Park Citizens group, where people in Belmont Park can hang out and share stories and other entertainment as long as the entertainment is not against the Law.
There is also the Belmont Park Market group, where people in Belmont Park can sell or look for things to buy. From selling food, items, air etc.
The members of these groups overlaps, so it should be easy to get into them J It is just the Safety group that has a very strict joining requirement. Visit the
3 February 2021
We glad to announce that we gained a few new members who can assist us in patrolling our neighbourhood. Tonight, was their 1st patrol in Belmont park. During patrol we immediately picked up some activity in the park behind Shozoloza. It seems that this park is becoming the hotspot for people to drink and party. We talked to some of the people who was drinking and did not even wear a mask. Also, no social distancing. We talked to them telling them that it was illegal to drink in public park and that they should leave the area. We later found that they were gone.
Later the evening the NHW spotted a gate that was either left open or someone opened the gate. We were able to assist. Burglars take advantage of such situations. Especially if you come from work tired, ask the kids to make sure the gates are closed or locked.
The rest of the evening went without any incidents.
23 January 2021
We came across an abandoned police van with no policemen in sight. After reporting it, we learned that they were on a case. We left the scene although it looked very weird. We were backed up by C-Max and Capital. We left the scene and let the police continue with what they were doing.
Later we were stopped and ask for assistance from someone in the community. Someone broke into the premises and were caught on camera. We were able to locate the suspect. With the support and assistance of C-Max we were able to catch the perpetrator as well as his accomplice. Drugs were also found on them. The police took them into custody.
Since we had a proper description of the offender we were able to find the person. He put up a convincing act that he was innocent and that he was not near the scene. However, a picture is worth a thousand words. What is a video worth?
We patrolled the other area Nhw’s area in sector 3 as well. Was pretty quiet the rest of the evening.
20 January 2021
Three of our members took the streets on foot. Assisting people make them aware the importance of wearing a mask. Alot ot them just did not care. quite a few found it to be quite informative.
