Saying goodbye to Gerhard

We first had our Candle light Vigil in honour of Gerhard followed by a ceremonial patrol through the sector.  On the day of his funeral, the Nhw’s formed a cavalcade to the church.  He will be dearly missed.

The Fare

Belmontpark, Peerless park East, Peerless park West as well as Scottsville  assisted by the Fare. Was fun was nice and confiscated liquor from minors. Also patrolled by bike around the perimeter.

Aunty Magie’s Funeral

It was a sad affair saying good buy to one of sector 3’s most loved neighbourhood watch patroller.  Her presence will be greatly missed.  Will add more pics of aunty Magie as soon as I get permission and the pics.  She was part of Scottsville’s Neighbourhood watch.  Also leading the Walking bus, ( walking children to and from School)

Malvern De Bruyn Funeral

Belmontpark Neigbourhoodwatch, together with other neighbourhoodwatches were honoured to be at Malvern De Bruyn’s Funeral.  He was given almost a presidential funeral.

Neigbourhood Watch Awareness Day

On 19 September 2015, we plan an awareness campaign through our sector and try to assist other neighbourhood watches in the sector as well as start new neighbourhood watches where there is none. Below is the route we intent to follow:

Candlelight Vigil and Prayers for:

Lt Col Joseph Galvin was killed together with constable Lt Col Gregory Galvin and Const Nomathamsanqa Gilidobo in Bloekombos in May 2009.

W/O Gershwin Matthee, together with constable Cannon Cloete were killed in Walacedene in 2011.

jointop1We drove through several neighbourhoods,  focusing on hotspots.  From taking down shops who was selling illegal liquor to stopping and searching suspects in the street.  Also looking at shops selling illegal substances as well. Below is a few pics of the event.

Joint Social Crime intervention in Scottsville

We had a successful event  in collaboration with South African Police Services. Several arrests were made.  Problematic places were visited.  We even attended to a lady who needed medical attention.  We were by her side until the ambulance arrived.

Operation Roadsafety

The traffic department was very busy at the corner of Station road and 9th avenue, impounding and getting illegal taxis off our roads in our neighbourhood.  Fines were also issued.

OPEN DAY on November 1st 2014

We had a lot of fun. from enjoying authentic boerewors rolls, riding horses (Equestrian Unit), playing in cool spray of the fire engine; also enjoying a show from the K9 unit as well as a traditional performance where the participants were all less then ten years old.


Successful Community Safety training took place.

We had successful participation in the Crime Awareness Campaign between the community of Sector 1 and the South African Police Service this past weekend.

Friday 29 August started with the School learners and Educators with Posters and flyers of crime awareness.

Saturday 30 August, Woman & Abused Victims.

Sunday 31 August, Religious & Spiritual Impact.
